5 – Currents, Damage Control, Forts

Today was a fun day. During classes we had lots of hands on activities. In oceans and Society we went to The Knob and talked about whaling history and how New Bedford was the “city that lit up the world.” In oceanography we learned how currents form and work. I found this interesting because I have always wondered how currents work while I am out sailing in the Long Island Sound. Today in Nautical Science we talked about damage control. We learned how to fix a burst pipe. This is important information for the boat just in case a pipe bursts we know how to temporarily fix it. During free time today a bunch of my friends played spoons and I won! After dinner and study hall, C house (my house) made a fort and watched Phineas and Ferb. It was originally just supposed to be 5 of us but then the whole camp decides to come into our house! It was a fun time and we left the fort up for tomorrow night. Goodnight everyone! I am having an amazing time up here and I can’t wait to tell you these stories in person!
